I am reposting the below from another poster/list. linda palmer

"Today I received a survey from the National Institute for Infant
Nutrition. The cover letter explained that the research has been
going on for 50 yrs to gather info about breastfeeding and formula
feeding habits. I decided to take a look because I felt that the more
I can contribute responses about full-term breastfeeding, the better.
Anyway, I was surprised that there were way more questions about
formula feeding than breastfeeding and then, when I got to the food
section, there was no option for me to enter my response regarding
home-made food; only a spot to respond about jar food (which we don't
use).

Suspicions aroused, I did a search online for the "National Institute
for Infant Nutrition" and the ONLY reference I could find (and my
husband also tried) was the homepage for doing the survey online.

I hate to jump to bad conclusions, but this looks sketchy. I'm now
highly suspicious that it's run by a formula company.

So, if I'm right, I'm partly writing this message to vent at the
underhand way in which the research is presented (especially as I
used to work in the research industry!) and am also warning anyone
else who received this survey that things may not be what they
appear, so please think twice before parting with personal
information.

If I'm way off track, I'd love to hear what the NIIN actually is and
who's behind it."
