Does anyone (I'm speaking especially to those of you in Israel) have any info. regarding doulas in the bible.  Someone told me about Yocheved (Moshe's mom) helping the women of Israel labor quietly because of fear of Pharoah.  I'm putting together a program for my synagogue about the importance of labor support for Jewish women in our community and I'd like to spend a few minutes talking about and giving examples of childbirth in the Bible, including a Jewish law perspective.  If anyone can point me to a good source for the Jewish law surrounding childbirth issues, I'd really appreciate that too.  Thanks.  This relates to breastfeeding in that I'm hoping that women will be encouraged to seek out labor support and, by extension, will find more breastfeeding success.
