I believe that the colostrum production begins in the 16th week of
pregnancy; my toddler weaned herself in my 4th or 5th month of pregnancy
because she said "the milk tastes funny." Nature provides for the baby
about to be born. Another friend whose toddler nursed all the way
through her pregnancy and then tandem nursed with the baby reported that
the toddler had very loose stools in the last few months of her
pregnancy ( and she had very little engorgement!)
