I shared an experience with another group and it was suggested that I
notify you as well as the members of Lactnet.

I attended a conference at the Fairmont, New Orleans several years ago.
My purse was stolen day 1.  The leaders of the program did not want to
upset any of the participants so did not mention it to the group.  That
afternoon another purse was stolen from beneath the chair the owner was
sitting in.

The police stated that it was "big business" to target hotel
conferences.

I will take travelers checks, one credit card and will not have my
airline tickets in my purse.
