Hello,

I have mom's permission to post. Mom is breastfeeding a 9-month old and has
been breastfeeding for 2.5 years (she tandem nursed her 2.5 yr old).  About 7
or 8 months ago she had a plugged duct on the nipple that was very painful
-She switched bras and nursing positions, and it went away. About 3-4 months ago
she noticed a small lump in the same place.  It is not painful and there is
no warmth in the breast etc. She left it alone and assumed it would go away
with breastfeeding (It is on her daughter's "favorite" side). It is now about
the size of a small pea. She can still nurse on this side. If she presses
on the lump, there is no pain and nothing is expressed. Is this a
galactocele? I am suggesting that mom go to the doctor, but wanted the opinion of the
collective as well.

Thanks.
Aloha,
Gloria Thai
