<<I interested in information on salmonellae infection. A 1 month old has
been hospitalize & had surgery, with a bowel abstruction. The mom is
bottle & breastfeeding. The Dr said the baby had salmonellae, and the
mother think the baby got it possible from her breast milk. I am unable
to find any info on this.

Any info. would be appreciated.
Thankyou

OK let me get this straight.....the mom thinks the baby got the salmonellae
from breastmilk that comes straight from her breast, is not mixed with water
(city water? That may or may not be free of all kinds of bacteria), is not
made of all kinds of unpronounceable chemicals, has no artificial colors,
flavors or preservatives, is not poured into a container that may harbor
bacteria?

The formula, container (bottle & nipple), method of preparing, water or
anything else that may have come into contact with the baby's hands (that go
to the mouth) is not suspected to have harbored the bacteria that caused the
salmonellae?

OK time for me to shut up and go to bed.

Belinda, shaking her head in amazement.
