Dear colleagues,

I have just found out that my mutual fund/retirement fund has some
small amount in Abbott Labs and Wyeth.

I found this out when I was looking over my husbands shoulder and he
was checking his funds out from his employer and in this long list of how
it is split up I saw "Nestle'" and had a fit. He said that is the way they
do it and I might have it, also.

So I went to my investment company website to the Health Sciences section
and, low and behold, there was Abbott and Wyeth, among others. Now,I have
very little in this fund but the breakdown out of the many companies is
6.23% in Abbott and 4.55% in Wyeth. Johnson and Johnson and many others
are listed. I am going to call to see if I can have my shares taken out of
there individually or if I should just drop that whole fund.

I just feel sick knowing that I have any little holding in formula
companies and didn't even know it!!! This is such a violation of my
ethics. I know I don't have much but even a penny invested makes me feel
like a hippocrite.

Has anyone else ever had something like this happen? It sure opened my
eyes.

It is an area I never even thought about, I, of course, wouldn't just go
out and buy stock in these companies but they were just slipped in under
my nose.

Sorry to vent, but I wonder how many of us might have something
like this going on without our knowledge. In 97 I was pretty new to
all of the ethical things and totally new (still am)to mutual funds, so I
really never even thought to ask, just trusted the investment/retirement
guy.

Thanks,

Cheryl Marian

P.S. By the way, I am making my dear husband get in touch with his
broker, also. We will certainly not be shareholders in Nestle'!
