Kendall, how madenning and "saddening" for you!  I can empathize.

You probably already know the answers to your own questions, but I'll put my
own .02 in anyway.  One reason you (all of us, really) are suspect is that
you're trying to put up a display about (...gasp...) a very sexual body
part(!!!)  In the librarian's mind, you might as well be asking to put up
pictures from Penthouse and Hustler.  Our culture still perceives the main
function of a breast to be sexual (it's also great for selling beer and cars;
what a shame it's such a shaky and difficult way to feed babies).

What I would do:  I would put up my very tasteful and informative display
