The discussion on Kava Kava prompted me to post this to the list. When I was
having my children, I had a terrible time with morning sickness. While
pregnant with my third child and not wanting to take any Rx drugs for this, my
nurse practitioner suggested I take Vitamin B6 and aloe juice which I did.
They did not totally alleviate the nausea but most definately made it
tolerable. I noticed after that period had passed and I stopped the B6 that
my temper worsened noticeably with my children and I would "fly off the
handle" much more easily. Now, I'm not one to pick up on cause/effect
relationships readily but this was very obvious to me! Consequently, I
started taking the B6 again and it did make a difference. I've more or less
taken it ever since, and I have since learned that it has some natural
relaxation effects. My point is, someone suggested another alternative if
this was the desired effect of the Kava and I wanted to pass along my
experience. I used to say (in jest, of course!) that B6 kept me from killing
my kids, meaning I was much more even tempered because of it. Now, I have
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and I take it because sleep disturbance is a problem
with this condition and I figure, I need better rest: can't hurt, might help.
So, it has served me well over the years. Anyone else have experience with
this?
