Could be herpes simplex, or an allergic reaction to the Zantac. If 
herpes, mom should cover the blisters if at all possible. Fortunately 
the baby is old enough to not be as vulnerable to neurological 
complications if it is a herpes virus. Another possibility is Coxackie 
virus, spread from the baby's mouth.
She certainly should see a physician.
