Nice, huh? One should give one's baby just the right amount of impurities,
and not increase their concentration. Who writes this stuff? Who believes it and
takes it seriously? Who reads it?

This is what our WIC department is told by the state health dept. Boil the water only for a minute or two as it concentrates the lead found in tap water. But you need to boil it to kill a bacteria that is naturally in the water, and it has a long name I can never remember. Also, powered formula has bacteria in it and no one is told to heat this stuff up anymore. No one sterilizes bottles or nipples anymore or cleans them right away or sticks to the one hour rule of tossing ready to feed after opening. That "nursery water" junk sold in stores is not sterile water either. Yet, parents all feel it is better than tap water and a necessary purchase. I found information on the nasties in formula in the ILCA pamphlets on hazards of formula. The ones written by Marsha Walker. Research based information. I for one am glad they are putting this information in their pamphlets, parents need to know that formula means or needs special preparation, not just mix and go.
