Why not cup feeding? It's easy, it's safe, and unlike finger feeding, it's
not slow. Furthermore, there are studies which show that babies in the NICU
who are cup fed are more likely to go home breastfeeding, and will
breastfeed longer. Mothers are very good at cup feeding once they are
taught, so that they can do it at home, if the baby goes home before
breastfeeding well. However, if the baby does breastfeed at all, the best
way to give extra milk is at the breast with a lactation aid.
