I've just done quite a bit of research on rickets and breastfeeding due
to having several cases pop up here in the inner city (West side of
Chicago) in exclusively breastfed babies.
The 18 month old who eats potato chips and chicken nuggets could also be
offered bananas (pretty cheap), watermelon, oranges (cheap, too) or
fortified breads, cereals, etc. The more elementary approach to the
vitamin D issue is GO outside in the SUN! 20 minutes a day of face only
will give enough....
