Hi Barbara, Thanks for sharing the interesting case.  I would very much
consider a cow's milk protein allergy with this baby..The s/s, although
extreme, have been noted previously with suspected allergy as above. My
suggestion would be to have Mom eliminate all dairy from her diet while
continuing to pump for 2 weeks then reintroduce breast feeding. To prevent an
investment issue in the bottle feeding I would suggest alternative feeding
methods for this time period. Mom can save the pumped milk to give at a much
later date as babies most often outgrow this allergy. If she chooses to save
it and give later, please let us know how it turns out!
