Iīve got a big problem with a mother who has a four weeks old baby.ther was
a normal pregnancy and delivery. The baby is healthy. In the first days she
got cracked nipples. After several days they healed spontainiously. Two
weaks ago, she contacted me because of this extreme pain after a feed. She
describes this pain as burning from the skin. It begins 10 minutes after a
feed and goes on until the next feed.
The latching of the baby is good. He is gaining weight very well, and when
she expresses her milk, she obtains 150ml in ten minutes. Her breast are
considerably large and sometimes it seems if his lowerlip is not quite
right. The pain is on the lower part of the areola. The nipples and areola
look very normal. Thereīs nothing to see on the skin, the breasttissue
feels normal. Normal lactating breasts!!
Because I was thinking of trush I recommended her to use daktarin. The baby
also had a diaperrash, so I was thinking of candida. It didnīt help. Then
she used nysthatine. That didn`t help either.I also thought of the Raynoud
Syndrome, but she had a previous breastfeeding exprerience with no problems
at all. She breastfed her daughter nine months.
This mother is very motivated, but not for long I think....She is holding
on at the moment.

Please mail me with some good advise as soon as possible.

Excuse me for my English.
