I was working this afternoon with a mom of a 6 week baby who was crabby and
uncomfortable from oversupply. This baby would really like to comfort suck
and does not do well using mom's skinny little fingers or a pacifier. After
trying everytihng else I could of think of, I figured a nipple shield at the
end of a feed might slow the flow enough that baby could comfort suck that
way until we get mom's supply down some. Towards the end of the consult Dad
calls to see how things are going since he could not be there for the
consult.

Mom says in the phone,

"Oh, she is finally settling down."

"Yes we are almost done."

"She gave me this nipple condom so the baby doesn't get so much milk."

It was all I could do to not roll on the floor laughing.
