At our local hospital they've decided to do baseline bili on ALL babies.  I
agree with Rachel that in the cases mentioned the ball was dropped!  Gross
mismanagement, lack of follow-up, parental education etc, etc. with  each
ommission compounding the one before.  No healthy newborn should suffer from
kernicterus, the health care system (or lack of system)is at fault, but
