The third revised edition of the BAB mentions "A yeast infection (candida
albicans) of the milk duct is one possible cause of intense stabbing or
burning pain in one or both breasts during or after feedings." Page 514

Page 480 also mentions "A mother may develop a secondary yeast infection in
the milk ducts or areas or areas of the breast surrounding the milk
ducts..."

I love the information on thrush on pages 480-484 and often give individual
copies to moms whose doctors are clueless. (thank you Nancy and Julie!!)
