Hi Judy! Chronic thrush is quite a nightmare. I had been seeing quite a bit
of what appeared to be endless thrush -- non-responsive to Diflucan + all the
usual anti-fungal creams and solutions for baby and mom -- and started
referring to dermatologists. Have to admit my area is well stocked with all
manner of physicians so this is easy to do for me. As a result am finding
out that classic thrush symptoms are not always thrush. One mom recently was
cured very nicely with triamcinolone cream for her nipples -- away went the
stabbing pains into the breast, constant discomfort and inflammation.

If you are indeed looking at thrush see if you can get your hands on the
Lactation Consultant series Unit 18 on Candidiasis. Defeating this
opportunistic beastie can take major hygiene effort throughout family.

Good luck.
