Hi Renee,
I have had my copy of The Politics of Breastfeeding out recently while
preparing a lecture for the first year medical students.
Here are a couple of my favourite quotes ( I think you can guess the context
in which they appear):

n"Tigers are not placid, yet they suckle their young; bats are mammals, but
no one suggests that women must hang upside down in caves to be successful
breastfeeders."
Palmer G. Politics of Breastfeeding. Pandora: London, 1988, p18.

n"A successful cake is also a complex chemical reaction depending on precise
proportions of ingredients, but cake is not called formula, whereas
artificial baby milk is, to this day, in the US and the countries under its
cultural influence".
nPalmer G. Politics of Breastfeeding. Pandora: London, 1988, p175.
