Greetings all! My name is Kirsten Berggren, I live in Burlington, Vermont, and
have 2 children. My area of specialization is helping working mothers with
continuing breastfeeding. I am not a lactation professional, but I have years
of experience helping working mothers address breastfeeding and pumping issues,
and am in the beginning stages of putting together a book on the topic. I
still hold a full time job in another field, so it has been through emails and
web-based services such as message boards that I have done most of my work. I
was very active on the ivillage "working and pumping" message board for about 2
years, and recently have been answering questions on the breastfeeding.com
"working outside the home" message board. I am interested in learning from the
larger lactation support comminity, as well as sharing the information I have
learned in my own studies and experience about helping working mothers to
continue breastfeeding. It is my opinion that the working mother is a huge
population deserving of breastfeeding support that it is not always easy for
them to find. In addition, information for working mothers about breastfeeding
can be very hard to find, which is my motivation behind putting my book
together. I hope to have a draft completed by the end of the summer. Well,
that got a little wordier than I expected, but I am happy to join the Lactnet
community!

Kirsten
