I hear Mary's thoughts echoed in many facets of my
life.  Surely someone out there is aware of related
research of interest to lactation folk & nursing moms.
 If anyone has reading or resources to suggest, please
post!

Anyone interested in age of menarche / diet /
lactation should absolutely check out Marc Micozzi's
chapter, "Breast Cancer, Reproductive Biology, and
Breastfeeding," in Breastfeeding: Biocultural
Perspectives (ed. Patricia Stuart-Macadam & Katherine
Dettwyler).  I cannot imagine not owning this book.
(No financial interest, I just enjoy an extraordinary
read.)

In fact, anyone working with breastfeeding mothers
would hopefully want to own this book.  I do not lend
my personal copy out & as many times as I have quoted
the "I can imagine" section of Kathy D.'s "Beauty &
the Breast" I still cannot do it without tearing.
This book remains the most popular title in my local
LLL lending library ("downtown" / university crowd --
please don't accuse me of "labeling" -- anyone
purchasing this book for a similar library should be
mindful of the literacy level.  It's not for every
mom.)
