I'd say yes.  However, when you do this, you need to time pauses in your
presentation, to allow people to write things down.  So when you want
them to absorb a specific point, say "I'll just pause to let you take
your own notes on that..."  Build the pauses into the rhythm of the
presentation.  Ask if everyone has a pen in their hands, and a handout,
at the start of the talk.  Allow a moment for grabbing of pens.  :-)

And less is more.  Concentrate on three things you want everyone in the
audience, to remember in two days time.  You can add in a couple of more
things, but those three things should be returned too, in different
words, at least three times each.  :-)
