To get the day started off -
I worked with a teen couple yesterday who came back in for a bilirubin
check. While drawing the specimen and talking about the baby and how they
were doing, mom said that her milk had come in the day before and the baby
was eating better. I complimented them on their decision to breastfeed and
how breast milk would really help to get rid of the jaundice. The dad piped
in and said he was glad the baby was being breastfed because then he would
be a good kisser when he grew up. Using all those facial muscles would help
that to be. He made that statement very proudly, he was breastfed and mom
smiled at him and shook her head in agreement. Can we add that to the list
of benefits? Is that great or what?
