I think it is always bemusing for those of us outside of the US when this discussion comes up because we have such a different response in the health system. In Australia, routine testing for drugs does not occur, no one blinks an eyelid if a mother says she uses cannabis and no one would dream of suggesting that a mother who uses cannabis should not breastfeed. Cannabis use is illegal here though, I wonder why the different response?
