Am not in a hospital environment so no protocol to observe :) but have been
weighing babies on their sides for some years - huge reduction in fussing
and flailing.  I keep my hands on till baby settles and often they go from
fussing to quiet alert state.  Supine can be quite ugly unless baby in very
content state.  Haven't tried prone - thanks for tip!
