As an LC in private practice, I have the mom complete a "history form".
This includes a signed consent for permission to touch her breasts/baby
and to report to her primary caregivers.  Nobody has refused to sign or
even questioned this.  Sending a brief report to her primary caregiver
is a really good PR exercise!  If necessary, I will phone the caregiver
concerned who can often throw more light on a particular situation.  I
think we would all like to work towards the favourable situation that
Pamela describes.
