Hi Dr. Jack Newman a pediatrician who runs the breast feeding clinic at
Toronto Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto Ontario Canada has a list of
contraindicated medications. Cortisones including the one you mention as
well as prednisone etc are not contraindicated while breast feeding. Cipro
has not been studied extensively but he feels is likely perfectly safe. I
don't know the other you mention. Likely sold in Canada under another name.
He has a policy there that doctors have to consult him to find an
alternative to a contrainducated drug. They can't just tell the mom she has
to stop nursing. (I wish all hospitals had such a policy.)
