How old is old?
The mother you mention might get encouragement from the Slome paper on
grandmothers breastfeeding. It's very old but comes complete with some
wonderful photographs! In the 50's there was great doubt that milk could be
produced apart from pregnancy if the papers on the subject that were
published around that time were any indication. So this paper actually has a
photo of one of the grandmothers scooping up her breast and squirting milk
out of it!
