Homeopathic arnica would be totally safe.  Homeopathic remedies are so
dilute that they only stimulate the bodies own ability to heal itself.   It
is a great remedy for swelling and bruising.  I took it myself after
childbirth and have frequently given it to my children. 3 day old likely
gassy as stomach is beginning to grow and prepare for larger volumes of
milk.  No worry there either.
