A mother I’m working with has systemic yeast. She’s taking some serious
anti-fungals. She’s been told that as the overgrowth of yeast cells in her
intestines die, they produce massive amounts of toxins that cause a
worsening of her symptoms until her body finally catches up and gets the
toxins cleared. At this point, she herself is starting to feel
better~~~better than she’s felt in months, in her words, like herself again.

This is her third baby, all three breastfed beyond a year. She’s worried
about this surge of toxins and its effect on her milk. She doesn’t want to
wean suddenly, but expects that her daughter will be weaning soon anyway,
and is worried about the “poisons” that she may be passing to her daughter.

She’s asked me to post and see if anyone has further insights for her.

(We’ve already talked about: The risks of not bfdg; the fact that her
daughter is over a year and not a fragile newborn thus more capable of
processing any toxins that pass to the daughter; that each toxin is
processed differently and until we know specifically what the toxins are,
it’s hard to offer more information.)

Insights anyone? She’d deeply appreciate whatever information you can offer
her.
