R & A (1999?) The mom can supplement her diet and/or baby's diet with
Vitamin D. AAP suggests 400IU/day for children under certain conditions
(dark-skinned children, inner city, clothing that lowers exposure to sun,
mom on vegetarian diet). R & A also say ingestion of Vit. A (60 ug/day)
for 2 weeks raised mom's Vitamin D levels 40x(Hollis 1983). So it
certainly seems easy to me to increase mom's levels and/or supplement
baby. NOT skip BF!!!!!!!! Sincerely, Pat in SNJ
