Hi all,

I still find this a funny topic... Of course, you can choke on breastmilk!
You can choke on anything! A baby can choke on anything! That is not
something having to do with breastfeeding or breastmilk, but with the always
existing possibility of a mismatch between swallowing and breathing, that
can happen with any food at any age and may be more likely when a baby has a
neurological or anatomical or physical problem. Is this really something we
should be surprised about...? Isn't this a very normal thing, just like
anyone has the possibility of dying from something, even though some causes
are more likely than others, but never fully impossible...?

Warmly,

Marianne Vanderveen IBCLC, Netherlands
