Lisa,
I don't understand:
< I've actually been more interested in another facet,
setting up a concentration gradient that tries to equalize by pulling
milk
out of the breast, such as for engorgement. >
Do you mean pulling lymph (not milk) out of an engorged breast? I have
not yet had occasion to observe a breast under treatment with cabbage,
and I have wondered if that is what the cabbage has been purported to do.
Not that cabbage is salty in its natural state. But does anyone have
insight as to whether some other mineral or chemical in cabbage is acting
in this way? Is the cabbage changed (limper, or more full of fluid) in
any way when removed?
Jean
