Jenni makes a good point about "dispensible" or replaceable workers.
This is not the first such issue thaty have faced and that is
why unions were formed! For various reasons, unions today are not as
strong as they once were and part of the reason is that they don't
always represent their constituents interests so well. There are many
unions that represent lots and lots of female employees. They, too
need to be approached regarding making breastfeeding in the
workplace a part of contract negotiations.
NOw the question is, how to get the attention of unions in this issue.
Any ideas? contacts? etc.
