Teresa and Winnie, 'my biggest beef of all' is the relative who puts a dummy
in the babies mouth and rocks it seemingly back to sleep rather than feed
it- then later when you are told "BABY WON"T FEED" by the doctor I poor kid
is so confused by the jiggling dummy which has kept it quiet that it won't
attach to real mum's nipple. I see this constantly in our women's section
here- not only for LUSCS mums but for Primis who may have had forceps
deliveries so mum can rest- the kid hasn't even tasted the breast yet! the
other is of course the honey or Green tea/sugar or honey mixture forced down
the hungry childs neck by the Ma-in Law. Have shouted to stop this happening
this week many times and confiscated the dummies! Attached the babies to mum
and got translation that it is wrong and why!!!! The other is the Ma-in-law
or father who arrived with cow's milk or formula tin to feed the child cause
he's been told there is no milk in mum's breasts!!!!
Being in a BFHI establishment which is in name only is FRUSTRATING!
Sorry everyone I can not believe the Pakistani people sometimes!
Take care,
Robyn Aulmann RM
