Hi Diane,

I also might be concerned about chemicals leaching from the plastic.  Why not just use breast shields to keep the bra away from the nipples?  Of course, sometimes they are not the most comfortable things in the world to deal with either.  If it's only short term, I guess I wouldn't worry too much about it.  Most wound care involves a certain degree of "non-breathing" but I don't think that is an issue if there is some exposure to air each day during cleaning/dressing change.  Let us know what happens.
