  Hi all,

A mom I spoke to, told me she could't breastfeed (years ago), because she had to take Norprolac to treat a prolactinoma that prevented her from getting pregnant.
I didn't ask her about the symptoms she had from it, apart from infertility (it was a talk we had over a neighbours' New Years meeting and she heard breastfeeding was my topic), but "You can tell me whatever you want, but I could not feed, because I had to take Norprolac and had no milk!" she said.
My question is: if she had to be treated because of severity of symptoms (infertility/visual/headaches), would there have been a way to not bring her prolatin serum levels to (almost) zero, but to a level at which she could have nursed? Could domperidone have done something for her? How come, she did get pregnant, but did not get rising prolactin levels during pregnancy?
Who could offer me (links to) more explanation on this issue? Thank you. (I doubt she wants to know more about it... but I do! ;o))

Kindly,

Marianne Vanderveen, Netherlands
