This is actually a great idea. Last week I had a call from a mother who was
doing a lot of the things mentioned. The babies were home, but she was giving
some bottles, pumping here and there...not sure what she was going to do.
When we talked..she finally said, "I just don't know how much to push this,
they aren't latching well. Do I just give in?" ONce I told her that I was in
a similar situation as far as my babies were also born at 32 weeks, that one
had a terrible latch and so forth. I told her what worked for me..what has
worked for other moms and so forth. We talked bout at night when My little
guy was sooo sleepy he woudln't nurse correctly and I used a cup for a few
weeks. And I told her that one day as I was nursing, I realized the smaller
twin who'd had problems, was actually nursing well!!! It was just an amazing
thing. And I said it wasn't something that just happened..it was a process
and then I saw it...It really gave her a new boost. She decided to cut all
bottles and nurse nurse nurse. Topping off with a cup when needed. :)
