I am sorry to correct, but actually it is not pronounced "bree"  It is pronounced Bris as in "piss" (sorry, the only word I could think of this late at night!) and some Jews pronounce it Brit as in Breet.  There is definately either a "T" sound or an "S" at the end-people in different places say it differently.
