I would warn a mom NOT to take the decongestant pseudoephedrine during pregnancy or while lactating.

It is known to decrease prolactin. Before we knew this, I saw a mom with sinus issues who had an ENT consultation while she was in the hospital to have her baby. He said to take Sudafed 4 times a day, which she did, and her normal breasts deflated and her milk never came in.
