This medication should be of no concern for the nursing mother or her
baby. All information (with few exceptions) always say the mother
should not nurse. AAAARGH.

This medication is "a human metabolite of hydroxyzine". Hydroxyzine is
used thousands of times every day for children much younger than 9
months of age. In fact, it is the drug of choice of many pediatricians
or dermatologists for children. The amount the baby would get from the
milk is much, much less than he would ever get if he got it directly.

Here is some info about it. *Peak* plasma levels after a 10 mg dose are
approximately 300 ng/mL (300 *millionth of a gram!!!!!). If the milk
plasma ratio were 1, then at the peak the baby would get 300 ng/mL.
But, because the protein binding is 93%, probably the milk:plasma ratio
is much lower than 1. Also, the half life in children is less than in
adults, also good.
