I've just resubscribed, so if someone posted this already, I'll apologize in
advance.
From the Archives of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, May 1997;151:490-496.
These researchers gave women Depoprovera immediately after delivery and
their impression after completing the study was that the medication did not
have a negative effect on lactation.
I found this article interesting b/c my reading had led me to believe that
it interfered with establishment of lactation, and therefore to delay the
first Depo injection until after 6 weeks postpartum.
Have any of you had any experience with women given Depo immediately after
delivery who were planning to breastfeed?
