I searched the archives for any info on these herbal (?) substances, and came
up with very little. A client of mine who has just discovered that she is
pregnant was using a "natural" diet preparation from GNC (a health food
chain) that contains these. She is very concerned that there may be harmful
effects for the fetus. She took the prep for about 2 weeks, and stopped as
soon as she learned she was pregnant. Can anyone enlighten me beyond the
general statements about ephedra r/t increased blood pressure, death,
miscarriage? She knows about this, feels horrible, and really wants to keep
this baby healthy. She has already had one miscarriage, so is understandably
alarmed. TIA.
