Are you sure there is no tongue tie? That would be my first guess. If not,
then why the tongue thrusting? Maybe an OT/PT consult is in line.
I do teach moms and dads to suck train...usually by finger feeding with
good finger positioning, all the way to the soft palate. This mom needs a
break...a double electric pump and some time for her nipple to heal (IMHO).
That will give dad a chance to suck train. Dads are usually better at it
because of their larger fingers.
I doubt this is yeast.
Strongly reccomend finding out the root cause...if no tongue tie, what is
happening oro-motor wise?
