I was reading the March 1999 edition of Mother Earth News early this
morning. For those of you who are unfamiliar with this magazine, it's an
organic gardening, homesteading, alternative energy type of magazine (yes,
conservative republicans really DO read this stuff-I even subscribe!)

Anyway, there is an article in this issue about honey as a home remedy.
There is a box on the first page of the article that talks about honey and
babies, botulism, etc. Then on the next page is another box about "Easy
Honey Uses", which includes using honey for covering cracked, sore nipples
with honey-soaked gauze to prevent infection.

Soooo, what's making those nipples core and cracked in the first place?
And what happens if a baby ingests honey? I really love this magazine but
I will be dropping them a post.

They have a website at www.motherearthnews.com . You can contact them at
