I am back from Utopia :) Breastfeeding conferences 2 weekends ago have
revived my spirits! It was wonderfully refreshing to be with kindred
spirits. I have something like 28 Lactnet digests to catch up on, though!
I feel I have missed alot here!
I have a dear friend whose husband is a co-worker of mine....(he was given
the title of the Ohio Lactation Consultant Association Doctor of the Year in
1998!) She has been pumping for 5 weeks, around the clock, for their very
ill little preemie who has several med. problems as well as Downs. This is
her 7th breastfed baby, and she has lots of milk, but they are to the point
of dumping it as they go as the freezers are all full and the little guy has
several more weeks at least until he can even have a few cc's via gastro
tube. I think she deserves some kind of great mom award! Anyway, it is
distressing to her to have all this milk "going to waste", and I offered to
hook up with a milk bank and come to her house and start bundling up the
liquid gold and shipping it off for babies who desperately need it. I know
I could find the info some other ways, but we are overwhelmed here with a
family funeral and the middle of baseball and dance recital season. I need
quick answers. I have never worked with a milk bank before. Could someone
give me the right connections? Thanks....and please keep sweet little baby
Max in your prayers. He's a fighter, and his parents are first class
supporters of The Cause. Please email me privately, too....like I said, I'm
way behind!

For The Cause,
