A possible response to the dentist who says to wean by a year or to stop
night nursings:

Would you expect me to eliminate all processed sugar from my child's diet?
Of course not;  sugar is just too important a part of our culture, and you
understand that.  Well, nursing is far more important to a breastfeeding
child than sugar is to the average American child.  Thank you for your
concern, but of course I won't be weaning my child.  It would be using a
sledgehammer to kill a flea.
