I have looked up the difficult words and found a definition of the
vaginosis that can occur postpartum: "Hormone-related vaginitis is
marked by dryness, irritation, thinning of the vaginal mucous
membranes and painful intercourse. Irritant vaginitis is
characterized by itching and soreness. "
And it does describe the condition of my vagina the first 9 months
after birth, except I had no irritation, itching or soreness of the
vagina.
It makes perfect sense to me that mother nature doesn't want a woman
with an infant that relies on breastfeeding to have intercourse,
risking a following pregnancy. Mother nature hasn't heard of condoms,
pills, and the whole other range of modern products that can prevent
pregnancy in a different way. Therefore I don't see this as a
condition that needs treatment, but as a normal part of pregnancy and
early motherhood.
