Becky,
One of the hospital administrators in our area admitted in a magazine article
that their hospital gets a great deal of money from formula manufacturers for
giving free packs. He also stated that as his hospital is working hard at
increasing breastfeeding rates, they hope to reduce their need for formula
within the next two years so that they can say "goodbye" to the formula
manufacturers.

It created an uproar with a particular formula company responding by sending a
letter to physicians "Giving thanks for the support they give to >>>> products.
They wish to inform us that due to <<<'s departure from the formula
manufacturing, the following private and public hospitals will currently provide
>>>> formula to their newborns." Followed by a list of 23 private and 11 Public
hospitals.

they then follow with the list of all the formulas they provide to WIC as well
as all the benefits they give the community - including employing X # of
employees.

Publicity, publicity - social marketing - we need $$$$!
